p5 not seen by HMC
A common problem is that the p5 server is plugged in prior to the HMC DHCP server being set up properly.Another can be slow scan of the network, or the HMC has lost track of the FSP when it changed IPs.
Manually add the server by IP
- $ lshmc -n from command line
- "clients=" at the end are DHCP addresses
- ping these to see which are alive
- Open the WebSM Gui
- Expand Server and Partitions
- Choose Server Management
- Pull down "Selected"
- Choose Add
- Fill in the IP address from above
